I was having trouble with my yahoo email account in Dec. 2012 and contacted yahoo and they put me in touch with PC Care Experts. They told me my account had been hacked into and they needed to have access of my computer to fix it. Stupidly I agreed to do this. They said it would be $439.95 to fix the problem and they would take care of any other problems I had in the next two years also. Supposedly they fixed the problem but my computer ran very slow after this. I again contacted them because...

My mom googled "yahoo support" to help with an email issue. She got the number (which apparently was WRONG) and was transferred to these people who informed her the issue was that her computer was infected and needed immediate attention. Before she knew it, they were connected to her computer and downloading and uploading stuff. They told her they would need payment of 200$, she refused at first and they then dropped it to 180$. She is not very knowledgeable of computers and didn't realize at...

I think we've been scammed. At first I was so happy to have our network secured again (or so they told me) that I willingly gave the credit card info and remote control of mine and my husband's computers. BUT, since then I've had problems that I never had before I called them. So, I had problems again the other night, called again and went through lots of tech stuff that I didn't understand. Then, problems again tonight and I called them, angry and they told me that they fixed the problem and...

I contacted Yahoo Support which was a 1-888 number as it turns out, very similar to PC CARE Experts. I thought I was talking to a Yahoo technician. I told him my email account had been hacked. After 30 minutes on the phone and running diagnostic check on my computer using LogMeIn to remotely connect to my computer, he suggested PCCARE Experts and connected me directly to them. They used LogMeIN to access my computer, spent an hour on my computer and said it was all fixed. I paid with a credit...

I had a problem with some scam messages being sent our to personal friends from my computer. I followed the yahoo help info and got the no. for pccareexperts.net...called and was asked to give up control of my computer so they could diagnose the problem. Was told my computer was compromised, that it was a serious problem and that it would take an anti hacking specialist level 2 to fix it at a cost of well over $200. I was then told that they could fix it for a lesser charge of $199.95 which...

I searched for yahoo email help online. I was directed to 888.307.9126. When Josh answered the phone he immediately started telling me that he had to diagnose the issue and I had to give control of the computer. He is a master at convincing a person that he is working for Yahoo. Once I allowed him to have control of the screen, he used his cursor to close any window that I opened to investigate his site, Pcexperts. I got suspicious when he rushed me to his buddy on the other line, waiting to...

I was called this morning by a representative of PC Care saying they were doing technical work for Microsoft, that there had been numerous error messages received, and they were calling to help. He identified himself as Alex. I was immediately suspicious, never having had a call directly from Microsoft to help me. I expressed caution and asked for a number I could call from my end. The number he gave: 1-646-843-6254. I called that number which was answered by another, who went to get Alex on...

I have read many, many of the entries to this site and need to add my own. Over the Txsgiving holiday, could not access my e-mail account. Took my computer to Office Depot, they pulled up a Yahoo contact # for me 1-888-307-9126. I called and immediately began speaking to someone with a foreign accent. He told me my e-mail account had been hacked and unfortunately, I gave him remote control of my computer so that he could assist in rectifying the problem. Once he had control,he also told me that...

Was having trouble with yahoo email, so goggled "yahoo contact number" and called what I thought was Yahoo (in retrospect, should have realized it wasn't, since it was first number in ads at top). The number I called was 1-888-582-5145, for yahoo-support.email-help.net. Spoke with person, think from India, who said he was with yahoo support. I gave him permission to access my email account. He said my computer was being hacked into from at least 2 other locations, and all files (quicken, online...

I called Yahoo Customer Care and told them that my alias to my email address was not working. The first level support did a remote diagnosis that they told me that my local Internet connection had been sabotaged and that I was hacked and it was not Yahoo's fault. I asked what I needed to do! I then was escalated to the manager of the group! Who gave me two options. Office Depot that would take 5 days and cost or PC Care Experts that could do it immediately and then monitor the service for 1...

My yahoo email account was hacked and I immediately tried to contact yahoo. When I couldn't access a contact number I googled 'yahoo contact phone' and it directed me to call these guys. They claimed they were affiliated with microsoft and asked me to download software so they could remotely access my computer and remove the malicious software from 'hackers.' They did some things I didn't understand but also some that I did, including running a free malware program and deleting some files in my...
