Florida Power and Light Disconnect twice in one week due to THEIR error. No rush to fix

FPL is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I've been living in my apartment for 1 1/2 years and this is the 3rd time my power has been disconnected due to "their error". The first happened immediately after I moved in... 10 days to be exact. They apologized for the mixup and my lights were back on within an hour of me calling.

I wish I could say the same for the last two incidents, which both happened within the same week. I came home from work to find a disconnect notice with someone else's account number on it. After promptly calling customer service, they informed me that someone else started service at my address (claiming the new customer gave the wrong address) and never paid the bill... How can that even happen? You would think I would be notified if they were to make changes to my account. No... They just Let me pay my bill and cut my lights off!

Throughout that evening I spoke to 5 different "managers" who all assured me that my lights would be back on that evening and the problem would be solved. Even after I explained I had 3 small children in the house, and $250 worth of groceries spoiling, they still showed no sympathy or handled my problem with any sort of urgency. One so-called manager even went so far as to tell me the emergency truck was finishing up a job not too far away and was on their way to me. Basically every single one of them lied to me. My lights didn't come back on until the next morning while I was getting ready for work in the dark.

Fast forward 5 days... I come home to another disconnect notice. This time it takes a while for them to come up with some bogus excuse. Ultimately, they never fixed the issue in the first place. The attitude I'm getting from customer service this time is "lights are out, someone will get there at some point, nothing we can do". At this point I'm extremely upset... Because I paid my bill in full 20 days ago so they have my money, and I have no power. They passed me around to everyone but no one could tell me when my lights would be put on. Needless to say, I'm writing this report 6 hours after my first call (I've talked to them 4 times already) and my lights still aren't on!

It's really troubling because I don't want to give these people another dime but I have no choice as they are the only energy company serving South Florida. If anyone knows of any others please let me know!
