Terrible Storm Door Installation

I purchased a security door from Home Depot to replace an existing storm door and had it installed on April 17, 2012. The installer did not install a shim, which he was supposed to do according to the contract under "Basic Installation Labor", and so the door does not fit evenly in the frame.

He also bent the frame so the door is not level resulting in major gaps around the door. When I purchased the door the salesman assured me that the $97.00 fee for the installation would include necessary shims, and other accessories such as the door seal kit.

A woman from customer service called to follow up on the service and when I told her that I was not satisfied with the installation she defended the installer and said I was the only person that had ever complained about his workmanship.

Well guess what, there is a first time for everything and this guy was obviously having an off day which he expressed to me. I have tried to get this problem resolved by talking with two different managers at home depot along with the customer service woman and the salesman but they refuse to fix the problem.

I use to be a loyal customer of Home Depot but will do all future business with Lowe's or other home improvement companies. Many of my friends and family members will be doing the same because they do not guarantee 100% customer satisfaction.

Take it from me along with many other dissatisfied consumers, never use Home Depot installation for anything!
