Stolen Phone charges - Sprint Cell Phone Service
I had a phone stolen a year and a half ago. I went to the Sprint store was convinced to add a new line and have the new line attached to the telephone. Once that was complete, I was told to put this phone on seasonal standby. This worked for a year. I was up for an upgrade, so went in and got the new phone. The sprint customer service employee told me they could lower the plan to $19.99/ mo. I took her advice and thought I was getting a great deal. Unfortunately, I did not know this activated the phone. Once the phone was activated, the person who had the phone began making calls and text. This caused the plan to go way over the $19.99 plan and caused a bill to be sent to me for over $600.00 of what it should have been. I have had multiple conversations with the customer service representatives at sprint and they have indicated, there is nothing they can do. I find that hard to believe, but it is what it is. Now, we have caught the problem and it is fixed, but it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth about the Sprint customer service and their customer retention. I have debated on closing my account, but due to the seasonal stand by plan and me upgrading phones, I would have to pay an additional $680 to get out of the contract. All in all, it is obvious that Sprint is not about the consumer.
