ATT

We used to have local phone # (Personal Information Removed) for 3 years with average monthly bill of about $50 - this despite the fact that I mostly work out of country and the phone is mainly used by my wife Elena Ogorodnikova. Last October we decided to reduce our phone expenses and switch to less expensive provider. On 10/13/2012 I called Customer Service and asked to cancel our local phone service. The line was not cut off but we since then are using VOIP phone service. In November, we received a reduced bill ($18.50 3.73 long distance charge) which my wife paid. WE called Customer Service again and requested diconnection of the ATT phone line. As the first time, upon hearing of our request, the person on the other ATT end was not polite and hanged up. Now, we got December bill for local plan & services $29.65 3.73 - that despite the fact that we stopped using the line since 10.13.2012! We checked - the line still has the dial tone. Please help us to have the line disconnected and the bills for local phone service stopped coming.
Despite our cancelations and complaint to BBB, the greedy ATT kept on charging our non-existing account in November and December 2012.
