Customer Service and charging for returned equipment

Microsoft has charged my account for $533.93 for equipment that was returned to their Laredo TX facility 13 days before the charge.They and I have the Fed EX receipts but they say that it will take 7 days for their customer support office to get to the the expedited issue resolution, because of backlog,then another 72 hours for it to be put back into my account. With a 7 day backlog I would like to know how many people they did this to and why a company this big can't hire temporary help to resolve this horrendous abuse of their customers.
