Supposedly "in stock" items really on "back order", price gouging on shipping of of only one ordered item

On 02/16/12 I ordered two of the same item which were according to the ShampooLine website "in stock." I received an email from ShampooLine acknowledging my order on 02/16/12. The web site states orders are usually sent in 2 days, but may take as much as five days.

Eight days passed without receiving my order or any type of communication from the company showing it had shipped, so on 02/23/12 I called the company to inquire about the status of my order & was then told that the items were on "back order." (Obviously, not "in stock")

Finally on 03/01/12 I received one of the items, but was charged what I was told would be the shipping for the two items, $19.00 for a $27.86 item! I again called the company to find out what happened to the second item, and was told that it was still on "back order". I then questioned the shipping cost & asked if they were planning on charging me that amount on the second package, when my order acknowledgement showed this amount for shipping for both items. A man named Frank who was supposedly the supervisor of the lady I had been talking to came on the phone & was very rude. He said they would give me a $6.00 credit on the partial order I had received but I would be charged for shipping on the second package & if I didn't like it, not to shop with them any more.

I wish I had looked at the other reviews for this company before ordering from them in the first place. Apparently they are infamous for poor customer service, orders arriving weeks late, items missing from orders, etc. They also have a real racket going with what they are charging for shipping & what they are actually spending on shipping for a parcel post rate. "Frank" doesn't have to worry - I would never, ever order from this company again. In contrast, I ordered the same item from another company online on a Thursday morning & received it two days later on a Saturday morning. The shipping was only $5.70. I order online a lot & "ShampooLine" was the worst experience I have ever had.
