sears home repair service
Refund for repair services not utilized
On September 26, 2013 a Sears Home Repair technician (ID #0715961) came to our home and evaluated our broken washer. He stated that it would need a drive belt, tub and basket. The tub and basket were covered by an extended warranty. The remaining parts came to $320.93 for which we paid a deposit of $165.59. The parts arrived and a technician (ID# 0927103). As he was about to install the new parts he stated that there was additional damage that would cost an additional $600. I told him that was more than the cost of the washer so I elected not to have the repairs accomplished. My understanding was that the service call came to $79.95. The new parts were returned. The remaining money from our deposit ($80.84) was to be refunded. The technician stated it would take ten days. Ten days came and went. I called Sears in Pensacola and was told the technician (ID# 0927103) never filed the paperwork for the refund. The customer service representative stated she would submit the paperwork for the refund. I waited until the end of October and my refund has still not arrived. I called again and I was told it just takes time. Just takes time. Sears didn%u2019t waste any time to cash my check for the parts but that is because it benefited Sears. They can care less how long it takes to get the refund back to me. I will NEVER use this service again and everybody I know will be told to find someone else to do their repairs.
