Avoid banking at TD Bank
We purchased an official bank check in June of 2010 from TD Bank to pay an out of state bill. Our check never reached it's destination and we waited the mandatory 90 days before contacting the bank. We filled out the appropriate paperwork and we're told the refund was pending in our TD Bank checking account. After 2 weeks of the money still pending we once again contacted the bank and they told us they would instead send a check in the mail. We waited yet another 2 weeks and still no check no money. We felt at this time TD Bank was not going to refund us our money and we contacted the Occ. After about a month of the Occ doing all they could to get our money back we we're told AGAIN the money was pending in our account, and the Occ (rightfully) feeling they had done their job closed the case. Once again 2 weeks later money's still "pending" so we go into the Marlborough, MA branch to be told by a number of different people that they were "investigating" where the money was. We patiently waited another week and went back to the bank. The bank manager at this point decided to give us a Visa TD Bank gift card with our refund on it. We then proceeded to the store only to find out there was a zero balance on the card. We drove back to the bank where the manager denied there was no money on the card so we called the 1-800 number on the back and a Visa representative told the manager himself there was NO money on the card. She acted surprised and told us she'd have to "investigate" once again where the money went. We spent the next 2 weeks calling and going to bank to try to get what was rightfully ours only to be hung up on, lied to, patronized and led astray by almost every employee who works their. We started feeling like we were a joke to them they way they spoke to us. When we closed out our checking account they acted as if they could care less about losing our service. We are still fighting for this money we have contacted the Attorney Genereal, the Occ reopened the case and we will continue to post a bad review on EVERY website we can until we are heard. We hope in return doing all this and letting others know what a horrible bank this is that this will not happen to other hard working people who only want whats rightfully theirs!!!!!!!!!!!
