This is a Complaint / Review about Charter Communications.

Ive had charter internet service for a month now & all i have had was problems. a month ago when i initially set up my service i had wanted to pick up the box from their office & install it myself. when i get there the blonde at the desk tells me that i can not do that, says i must have someone come out to do it. i told them this was never the issue with comcast. they said i have to pay the fee & have to have someone come out. when they do arive to hook up my internet the installation person would only leave 6' of cable but the outlet was on the other side of the room. said that they are not able to run any cable. This requires me to have my router on the wall across the room, i have to use extion cords & another jumper to get it to reach the couch. they said i would need to get a wireless router. i told them i dont need wireless for one computer for one person. I told the installation technician that this is why i wanted to install it myself, i would have used the money that i paid them for installation to buy coax & run it myself. the technician asked me why didnt i do that. i told her that their office said i could not, she didn't believe me & said i dont know why they would say that.
now a month later, i set up an account online & make my monthly payment, in red letters it said my one time payment was processed. 6 days later i get a web page pop up that says my account is pass due, i check my account online & charters web site says that my payment could not be processed, please try again later. it did not say that when i initially made the payment. No money was taken out of my bank but as far as i was aware when i made the EFT payment, it was accepted. 2 days after making the payment i get a late fee added to my account. I went to charters office & also called billing. they said there is nothing they can do because my account is NOW past due, They tell me they cant see that i tried to make a payment, they say there is no record of it. but right on their website, under recent activity it says "unable to process payment, please try again later" we did have a major ice storm that knocked power out across michigan at this exact time & im sure it had affected their system in some way. This is not my fault, Their website said that my one time payment had been applied to my account. but now there is no record of it & they wont wave this $8 fee because all they have to say is "your payment is Now past due"... Im pissed & idk what to do
