Bad Policy - Jet Blue

This is a Complaint / Review about Jetblue Airways Corporation.

I booked round trip tickets for my family of 4 (3 tickets) with one lap baby (under 2). I was DENIED online check-in (A note suggest I need to check-in at the counter for the return flight) the night before the scheduled return trip (4/22/14) Flight 1214. .
The next day we were required to buy a $600 for the lap baby (who is now a 2 yrs and 12 days old) who is still a lap baby and will be sitting on the "lap" of an adult.
I acknowledge my mistake for forgetting to purchased the return trip ticket for my baby but Jetblue could have made life easier if:
1 - You allow me the right to purchase the return flight ticket since the DOB entry for each customer is required upon the initial purchase.
2 - If the mandatory restriction is in placed, the "round trip" ticket would NOT be issued without all required payments. Since it is the same customers returning.
3 - Overcharging for a lap baby ($600 ) for a one way trip knowing the baby will be sitting on the lap of a grown up is ridiculous. You knew we had no choice and it is your way of ripping people off. Extremely bad policy. I've been your loyal customer and have been traveling with you for years. I will absolutely change my loyalty after this.
