Billing for orders not requested

This is a Complaint / Review about US Readers.

This company takes advantage of senior citizens. My mother is 82 and she ordered 1 magazine. Once they had her credit card, they dug up old magazine history and placed these orders on their own. When my mother would call and tell them she didn't order the magazine, they would talk to her as if she wasn't on the phone. They kept pushing other magazines at her and never confirmed the previous order would be cancelled. Instead, she would receive another bill for more magazines. She has been unable to get this company to stop all of these magazines they are sending and billing her for. When we contacted the bank and refused the charge, Chase bank said they could not reach the company, so there for, they could not assume that it was a billing error and would have to rule in the magazines companies favor and she would have to pay the bill. She may pay the bill, but the only way to prevent them from sending further charges through on her credit card is for us to cancel the card and take our business to another bank. I will be forwarding this complaint to additional organizations that care about their senior citizens and companies that take advantage of them.
