AT&T

My mother in law and I went in to an AT&T store on Colonial Blvd in Ft. Myers, FL and got a new cell phone upon our time there, a salesman talked us into a free trial period of a home phone box that was portable where ever you are for $19.99 per month. We took the boxes home to try, and they did not work in our area so I called at&t told them we did not want the service or boxes and would return them keeping our old service for home phones. We obtained receipts for the returned boxes and had to pay a $35.00 restocking fee each (never told us that) but they said everything was alright and we could continue with our old service (Century link) but that was not true, At&t released my mother in laws phone number to continue with Century Link but not mine, I called At&t repeatedly as well as sent emails complaining but had to call Century Link and request a new phone number as they said At&t had not released my number back... I continue to get bills from At&t (saying I am late and adding new charges for a service and bill I do not owe) I called again today 05/13/2013 for the fifth time and was told AGAIN it would be taken care of and my bill zeroed out (they are blaming Century Link) but Century Link said they only released the number upon At&t request and it was At&t who had not released the number back (and of course I have a new number via Century Link because of this and therefore, Century Link is not at fault) to further prove that fact, I called my mother in law today and she said, that they just sent her a new bill (for a service and box she does not have as we have evidence via receipt, that the box was returned in just days of getting it to the store) and she has her same number with Century Link. At&t is running a scam and this is fraud, trying to get money for a service and item that we do not have. I so stressed out over trying to get them to do what they promised to do, which was handle their mistake. They are billing us for late charges and services we do not have. No matter what we get the run around while At&T continue to rack up more charges for a service we do not have. I am about to go to the local news media for Action News and contact an attorney to resolve this and bring them in the spotlight for committing fraud and causing stress for products and services that people do not have. DO NOT switch your service to this wireless home box as even if you get it, it may not even work (as our case) and they will try to tell you when you return it, that you need to buy another product to get the box to work.... SCAM, we returned ours and did not let them talk us into any other products. At&t monopolizes the wireless industry and because they think they have the corner market on this they raise prices and cheat people such as with this product, if you ever walk out of a store with this box, you will be charged even if you walk back in and take it back... we are not the only two people this is happening to. Class action suits are being launched for just this service and box.
