Midwest Publishers

In May 2011 or 2012 I received a telemarketing call which promised a $500.00 Walmart gift card and and an additional gasoline rebate program which promised a $200.00 saving. Additionally I was to receive 4 or 5 magazines OF MY CHOICE from a selection list that was to be provided with my "welcome packet" which was to arrive in 7 to 10 days, Midwest NEVER provided the gift card, rebate program or ANY MAGAZINES OF MY CHOICE or selection list. I did receive 2 or 3 magazines which I cancelled with the publishers immediately. After a period of 3 months I had paid $59.80 with two payments on my credit card and despite several calls to Mrs. Sharna-Henssen (president off Midwest Publishers) she never provided the premiums and a magazine selection list. I wrote to her in Feb.2012 offering to close the account, waive any demands on her or her firm and to settle for the amount paid since I had received nothing of value, this was a generous offer which I assumed was accepted within my 30 day offer to settle period. I never heard from her refusing this settlement. Today 5 months later I received a telephone demand for $592.00 or $657.80 (it was unclear). My request is simple. Accept my previous payments, made in good faith and close the account without providing the list, the $500 Walmart gift card or gasoline premiums. No magazines are being provided now and no new ones should start. All Collection efforts must cease. If this is not acceptable, send the promised $500 Walmart Gift Card and $200 gasoline program (or a Shell or Mobil gift card) and no magazines. When I get these items I will pay the $592.00 in question.
