Abbey Cars Carnock Rd Dunfermline KY12 9AX

Bought a car from this garage with Voluntary Deposit of £2000.00 on 04/02/2012.after a short test drive , I uplifted the car the following week after check and MOT test done by trader at a local garage.Within a few hrs. of taking the vehicle , and out shopping with my wife , the engine management light came on. I immediately pulled in to a layby trying to diagnose fault by listening to engine etc. No worrying noises coming from the engine so we decided to proceed home as it was nearer than trying to go back to the garage. Phoned the garage who said "don't worry , it won't be much ? My instinct told me different. To cut the story short , after several re-sets of computer for engine management warnings over a three week period including new plugs & new direct ignition coil replacement(twice ) by the garage. After about 8 weeks driving , the car finally broke down on a double "s" bend whilst my wife was driving the car and because the car was by this time out of warranty from garage , I done a few tests myself and decided once again to replace the direct ignition coil and plugs .I managed to get the car started and returned to the garage to have the computer re-set as warning light was still illuminated but this only lasted for about 10 mls when light came on again. Since mid june we have decided not to use the car again but did take it for Diagnostic check which cost £150.00 plus the new coil I bought £150.00 plus £20.00 for first diagnostc check by home tune. After which I sent a couple of emails to " Brian Toole " at Abbey cars to tell him the car was not fit for purpose . I have recently sent another email this week to ask them to uplift the car and resolve the problem or I will demand a full refund . I'm paying the remainder of the price of the car through direct monthly debit to close motor finance for a car we can't drive for fear of doing more damage.So far we have had no Reply !To call personally at the garage I would have to borrow or hire another vehicle as the garage is roughly 25 miles away !I want to return the car and cancel the deal under clause 75 ( consumer protection act 1974 and am looking for a full refund of money's still being paid to close motor finance Scotland .We are botjh pensioners and cannot afford this nonsense .
