Holiday Inn - Complaints / Reviews / Scam Reports

This is a Complaint / Review about Holiday Inn.

I travelled to the US and decided to stay at the Holiday Inn White House Branch because of its awesome location to the major sites and because of its international presence in the market place as safe, clean and trust worthy accommodation. On arrival I presented my credit card as a security payment as is normal practice all over the world. On the first morning I received an sms from my bank in South Africa with the final total amount reserved on my account. This total was almost 15% more in my currency because of the exchange rate at that very moment when transaction was processed. Because I had the full amount in cash I arranged to pay like that to save the difference as I had another week in the Usa to stay. On checkout I went to pay the account in cash and asked for a receipt. He explained that the document I had was the necessary and not have really travelled before I trusted this to be true and went on my way. A week later after many phone calls I still have not received the money that was charged to my account and I am currently broke. The hotel say they still investigating after 7 days. Its disgusting how such a massive brand can take advantage of foreign vistors.
